The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy died and three other people were injured.

The assaults come after nights of aerial attacks in the area, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
